Nomad Limit — Support

How long can you stay? Answered by the passport you hold.

An aid, not legal advice. Border authorities and official government sources are authoritative. Verify before you travel.

Getting started

  1. Add your passport. Settings ▸ Passports. Your allowance depends on your nationality, so this is the first thing the app needs.
  2. Add the trip you're on. Home ▸ Add trip ▸ choose the country and leave "I'm still here" switched on.
  3. That's it. The home screen now shows how many days you've used and the date you must leave by.

Common questions

Why does it say "unverified — check official sources"?

Because it is telling you the truth. Every rule in the app records where it came from and when it was read. A rule is only marked verified once it has been cross-checked against the destination country's own immigration authority. Until then the app says so rather than pretending to a confidence it doesn't have.

Why does it say a country isn't covered?

Because we don't have a rule we trust for your passport there. An honest "we don't know" is far better than a confident wrong number when you're standing at a border. Tap through for a link to the country's own authority, or set your own allowance for that country and the app will use it from then on.

I hold two passports. Which does it use?

It checks both and recommends the better one. An Irish passport in Spain means no limit at all, not 90 days — and the app says so, showing the other passport's number alongside for comparison.

Does the day I arrive count?

Yes — and so does the day you leave. Both count as full days. That's how the rules work, and getting it wrong is the most common mistake in this category.

Why did my allowance go up without me leaving?

Because Schengen's 90 days are measured over a rolling 180-day window. As old days fall out the back of that window, you get them back. The app shows you exactly when that happens.

Does it work without location access?

Completely. Location only saves you typing. Every number, warning, widget and notification works identically with location switched off.

Does my data leave my phone?

No. There's no server. Your trips sync only to your own iCloud, which we can't see. The one exception is a travel circle, which you have to start yourself — see below. Full detail in the privacy policy.

What is a travel circle?

A way for you and the people you travel with to see where each of you is and who has to leave first. Settings ▸ Travel circle ▸ Start a circle, then invite people the same way you'd share a photo album.

Each person's phone publishes six things: their name, the country they're in, days used, their allowance, their leave-by date, and when that was updated. Not their location — the map pins a country, and the app never knew anything more precise. Leave at any time and your row is deleted immediately.

Can I count for my partner or my children?

Yes — Settings ▸ Travellers. Each traveller gets their own passports, their own trips and their own count, and the widget and reminders follow whoever is selected. That's different from a travel circle: travellers live on your phone, a circle spans other people's.

How do I restore a purchase?

Settings ▸ Restore purchases, on any device signed in to the same Apple Account. If nothing is found, the app tells you so rather than sitting silent.

Still stuck?

Email dev_support_team_mailbox@proton.me and tell us what the app said and what you expected. If it's a rule that looks wrong, include the country and your passport — that's usually enough to find it.
